Do you just do weddings? 

No I am available to do make-up and hairstyling for special occasions and nights out, photoshoots and film shoots. Please get in touch for a quote.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes I take a small non refundable deposit of £10 which is deducted off the final wedding day balance. Your date will only be reserved in my diary once the deposit has been paid. You can then either book a trial date in straight away or get in touch nearer the time.

Can you cater for large groups?

For large parties I can bring an assistant to help me get everyone ready. All assistants have several years experience in hair/make-up. 

Do you have a minimum booking?

No I am happy to take small and large bookings.

Can I book for just hair or make-up?

Yes I am happy to just make-up or just hair.

When do you recommend the trial takes place?

I recommend around 6-8 weeks before the wedding date though you are welcome to have one sooner if you wish.

Where do the trials take place?

I can travel to you or alternatively if you don't have a base in the area I can do trials from my home in York. 

How long does the trial last?

Around 2 hours for hair and make-up and around 1 hour for hair or make-up. 

What days can I have a trial?

Trial appointments are available on weekdays between 9am - 4pm. I am no longer able to offer weekend trials as I have to prioritise weddings on weekends.

Do I need to bring anything to the trial?

Please bring any pictures of make-up looks and hairstyles that you like as it's a good way for me to visualise the look you are after. If you have your hair accessories and veil it's handy to have these so you can see you overall look however don't worry if you don't have these yet.

Do bridesmaids/ mums need a trial? 

It's not necessary for them to have a trial as most are happy to just go with it on the day. However they are welcome to have one with the bride if they would like. 

What if I am undecided at the trial?

If there is anything you aren't sure of at the trial please let me know! The whole purpose of the trial is to get a look you will be happy with, hair and make-up can easily be tweaked until we get something you will love. If you are however still undecided after the trial I offer a 3 day grace period for you to decide if you wish to proceed with the booking, any cancellations made after this time or non notification of cancellation will be subject to a £50 cancellation fee. Where an assistant has been booked it will be £50 cancellation fee per artist.

What happens if you're ill on the day?

In the event of serious illness every effort would be made to find a replacement for you. Pictures and notes from the trial will be passed onto the replacement artist so they can recreate the look.


What brands do you use?

Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, YSL, Illamasqua, Urban Decay and Nars etc.

Do I need to touch up my make-up throughout the day?

Your make-up should stay on well all day though naturally at some point your lips will wear off. If you take note of the lipstick we use at the trial you can buy this for touching up. Also it's handy to have pressed powder/ blotting papers with you, this will get rid of any excess shine and keep your make-up looking fresh.

What if I have allergies? 

If you or any members of your party are allergic to cosmetics please notify me before application begins. If you would prefer to use your own products I am happy to apply these for you.

How do we prepare before the appointment?

Please ensure all faces are clean and make-up free. If having an updo ideally wash hair the night before as it will hold better. Hair should be dry ready to be styled unless pre-arranged for a blow dry.

How long will it take on the wedding day? 

For hair and make-up allow 1.5 hours for the bride and 1 hour per person for bridesmaids / mums. For hair or make-up 1 hour for the bride 1/2 and hour bridesmaids / mums. Hair and make-up will need to be finished an hour before you leave for the ceremony so you have time to get into your dress, have photos, meet with the registrar etc.

Are you insured?

Yes I have public liability insurance.

What forms of payment do you accept? 

All payments are to be made via bank transfer or cash. Cheques are not accepted. 

How far in advance should I book?

As soon as you have a date I advise you get in touch. I do in the region of 70-80 weddings per year and some dates (particularly Saturdays) can book up quite far in advance, sometimes 1 or even 2 years in advance! Please do still get in touch if you are booking last minute as there's always a chance I may be available. 

What information do you need from me?

Upon confirming you wish to book you will be emailed the info to pay the deposit along with the relevant booking information where I will ask you details such as trial address, wedding day address,  contact info, number of people and ceremony time.

What areas do you cover/travel to? 

I cover York and the surrounding areas such as Harrogate, Wetherby, Helmsley, Malton,  Pocklington,  Beverley, Howden, Goole,  Selby etc.
